What is a Project?
A Project is a named workspace that holds a group of related conversations. Instead of scrolling through one endless list of chats, you keep everything for a topic together in its own folder — and jump straight to it.
Two things worth knowing up front: projects are personal to you — no one else sees your project list — and they're purely organisational, so deleting a project never deletes the chats inside it. It just returns them to your main list.
Think of it as folders for your chats. If you've ever wished your conversations were sorted by what they're actually about, that's exactly what Projects do.
When a Project earns its place
Reach for a project whenever a topic is going to generate more than a couple of chats over time. If it's a one-off question, a plain chat is fine — don't over-file.
Create your first project
- Open Projects in the sidebarOn the left, find the Projects section, near your chat list.
- Choose “New project”Click + New project, give it a clear name (e.g. Q3 Marketing Campaign) and confirm.
- You land in the project workspaceIt opens automatically and shows only the chats that belong to this project.
- Start chatting inside itUse New chat in project — every conversation you start here is filed under the project for you.
Move existing chats into a project
Already have chats you want to gather up? You don't have to start over. Open any conversation's menu and file it — or unfile it — in a couple of clicks.
- Open the conversation's menuHover a chat in the list and click its ⋯ menu.
- Pick the project optionChoose Move to project, then select the project to file it under.
- To take it out againOpen the same menu and choose Unassigned — the chat returns to your main list, untouched.
A worked example
Say you're running a product launch. Rather than nine loose chats scattered through your history, you keep one project and let it grow with the work.
One workspace, the whole campaign
Every conversation about the launch lives here, so picking up where you left off is one click — and nothing bleeds into your other work.
- Launch email drafts — iterate subject lines and body copy
- Landing page copy — headlines, sections, CTAs
- Competitor scan — a web-search chat kept for reference
- Social calendar — post ideas and captions
- Launch imagery — visuals made with the 🎨 Image Generator
Projects pair well with the rest of v0.8.7. Keep web-search chats and image-generation chats in the same project as the work they support, and everything for the launch stays in one place.
Six habits that keep Projects useful
Name for the future you
Use names you'll recognise in three months — “Acme — renewal 2026”, not “stuff”. Add a date or client where it helps.
One topic per project
A project is only tidy if it stays focused. If two themes creep in, split them into two projects.
Start chats from inside
Use New chat in project so conversations file themselves — far less tidying up later.
Tidy in batches
Once in a while, sweep loose chats from your main list into the right project via Move to project.
Use “All projects” to zoom out
Your main conversation list still shows everything, so you never lose the big picture when you need it.
Delete without fear
Removing a project just unfiles its chats — the conversations stay in your history. Retire finished projects freely.
Common questions

Give it five minutes
Create one project for something you're actively working on, start a chat inside it, and move a couple of related conversations across. That's the whole idea — and it sticks fast.
